Kjellberg Finsterwalde at EuroBLECH 2026:
Automation Right Down to the Torch

Robot-assisted plasma cutting, automatic torch head changes and intelligent consumable monitoring:
At EuroBLECH 2026, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will demonstrate how different machining operations can be integrated into automated production processes. The CUTFIRE air plasma cutting systems and practical welding applications will complement the company's trade fair presentation.

Different component geometries, changing cutting requirements and increasing demands on equipment availability are shaping industrial metalworking. Cost-effective production increasingly depends on coordinating cutting technology, robotics and individual machining operations. Kjellberg Finsterwalde will demonstrate how these challenges can be addressed at EuroBLECH in Hanover from 20 to 23 October 2026.

The centrepiece of the trade fair presentation will be the iQ 4500 plasma cutting system, combined with an industrial robot from Kawasaki Robotics. Using various demonstration workpieces, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will illustrate automated cutting and machining processes.

These include simulated operations on a dished end, pipe cutting and hole cutting, as well as various machining operations on a metal plate. The demonstrations will cover contour and bevel cutting, piercing, marking and plasma gouging. The integration of an automated submerged arc weld will also be illustrated as part of the simulated production process.

The iQ-Series plasma cutting systems offer cutting currents of up to 450 A and, depending on the material, cutting capacities of up to 130 mm. Communication interfaces and the provision of machine, diagnostic and process data support integration into CNC-controlled and robot-assisted production environments.

Kjellberg Finsterwalde adopts a manufacturer-independent approach to system integration. Its cutting technology is designed to work with a wide range of motion control, robotic and automation systems.

Automatic torch head changes connect machining operations

With the Q-Torch Auto Change System for automated plasma cutting, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will demonstrate how different machining operations can be efficiently linked through automatic torch head changes.

Depending on the cutting task, the system automatically switches between torch heads equipped for different operations. This allows cutting, marking and plasma gouging, for example, to be carried out in sequence within an automated production process. Automatic changeovers reduce set-up times and manual intervention, support high system availability and increase productivity.

Kjellberg TorchGuardian monitors wear and protects the plasma torch

With Kjellberg TorchGuardian, the iQ-Series plasma cutting systems feature intelligent functions for consumable monitoring and plasma torch protection as standard. The integrated technologies monitor consumable condition, display relevant status information and help optimise consumable utilisation and schedule replacements. This improves process reliability and supports high system availability, particularly in automated cutting operations.

The TorchGuardian Module (TGM) is also available for selected HiFocus neo plasma cutting systems. During oxygen plasma cutting of mild steel at cutting currents between 280 and 400 A, it automatically monitors cathode condition. When a critical wear limit is reached, the module stops the cutting process in time to protect the plasma torch from damage. The TorchGuardian Module is available as an accessory for new HiFocus neo plasma cutting systems and as a system-specific retrofit kit for existing installations.

CUTFIRE: Experience live air plasma cutting at EuroBLECH

With its CUTFIRE air plasma cutting systems, Kjellberg Finsterwalde offers solutions for manual and mechanised cutting applications.

The mobile systems are suitable for cutting tasks in workshops, maintenance operations and on construction sites. The CUTFIRE 70, 90, 105 and 125 models cover cutting currents from 70 to 125 A.
All four models feature a CNC interface and an integrated marking function, allowing them to be used for both manual and mechanised cutting processes.

At EuroBLECH, visitors will have the opportunity to try out a CUTFIRE air plasma cutting system themselves. At a dedicated manual cutting station, they will be able to cut 8 mm and 10 mm thick mild steel plates, allowing them to assess handling and cutting results
   first-hand.

Industrial welding technology in practical applications

Using the KSI 700 inverter power source and Kjellberg stick electrodes, the company will demonstrate manual welding applications. The robot-assisted trade fair demonstration will also illustrate how an automated submerged arc weld can be integrated into a wider production process.

Trade visitors will be able to learn more about the technologies on display and discuss specific requirements for cutting processes, automation and industrial welding technology with Kjellberg Finsterwalde's experts.
