WELDING WEEK 2026

Location: Gorinchem/Netherlands

Submerged arc welding reimagined

Long, straight weld seams are among the traditional applications of submerged arc welding. However, modern production tasks increasingly demand greater flexibility when it comes to component geometries and weld paths.

At Welding Week 2026, Kjellberg Finsterwalde and Belgian system integrator Repron will demonstrate how robotics can extend the application possibilities of submerged arc welding. Repron contributes its expertise in industrial automation, robotics and system integration, combining it with Kjellberg's welding technology and process expertise.

A cobot provides automated guidance of the SAW torch and demonstrates different weld paths beyond the traditional long, straight seam. The KSI 700 inverter power source, wire feed system and robot control form a coordinated system for reproducible welding processes.

What we will demonstrate

Robotic submerged arc welding
Automated guidance of the SAW torch using a cobot for different weld paths.

KSI 700 and wire feed system
Coordinated welding technology as the basis for reproducible, automated submerged arc welding processes.

Robotics and system integration with Repron
The combination of Kjellberg welding technology and Repron's automation expertise extends the possibilities for flexible submerged arc welding applications.

More about robotic submerged arc welding

How can a process traditionally used for long, straight seams be applied to new component geometries? In our Know-how Centre, we explain how robotics extends the possibilities for torch guidance in submerged arc welding.
