Making submerged arc welding more flexible

Submerged arc welding traditionally demonstrates its strengths in long, straight weld seams and high deposition rates. But what happens when component geometries and weld paths move beyond the traditional straight line?

 

At the 36. Schweißtechnische Tagung, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will demonstrate how collaborative robotics can extend torch guidance in submerged arc welding. A cobot guides the SAW torch automatically along different weld paths, opening up new possibilities for flexible submerged arc welding applications.

 

Kjellberg will demonstrate how this approach can be implemented and the possibilities it creates for industrial welding applications through both a practical demonstration and a technical presentation.

As part of the evening event, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will present robotic submerged arc welding and demonstrate the automated guidance of a SAW torch using a cobot.

Sascha Rudnik from Kjellberg Finsterwalde will present the topic “Flexible submerged arc welding – technical solutions for decoupling welding processes from component geometries using collaborative robotics”.

The presentation focuses on how robotic guidance can make submerged arc welding less dependent on traditional component geometries and enable greater flexibility in the welding process.
