TIG Welding

What is TIG Welding?

The tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is a fusion welding process. The material is not removed; instead both sides of the workpiece that are to be joined are heated up until the materials melt and blend. After solidifying both sides are permanently connected. Depending on the welding task filler materials can additionally be used for joining.

With the suited equipment TIG welding is suitable for the joining of almost all materials that can be melted, ideally for welding tasks in root and constrained positions.

Increased Productivity through High-Performance TIG Welding Process InFocus

The InFocus torch technology achieves laser-like joining results and is suited for the joining of all steels and non-ferrous metals within a wide range of material thicknesses. Due to the maximised cathode cooling, the arc is constricted at the cathode tip in such a strong way that optimum process and joint properties are achieved. The joining results are characterised by excellent seam surfaces with reduced oxide formation. Due to the high welding speed, the spatter-free InFocus technology is more efficent than conventional TIG welding. Compared to laser welding, investment and operating costs are minimised.

The InFocus technology is ideally suited for:

  • Welding of thick sheets (InFocus keyhole welding)
  • Welding of non-ferrous metals
  • High-speed soldering and welding with speeds of up to 4 m/min (InFocus soldering) or 15 m/min (InFocus welding)
