Surface Welding Unit for Rails
The submerged-arc welding automat for fully mechanical rail surfacing is designed for regenerating grooved rails. The maximum track width amounts to 1,500 mm. The automat can flexibly be adjusted to all rails with a track width up to this size.
A splash-proof wire feeder allows rail repairs in nearly all weather conditions. The easy-to-handle carriage makes it possible to carry out surface welding with moving rail traffic. Without long changeover and downtimes, the automat can be lifted out of the track bed within seconds at the push of a button and can be removed by one person.
When designing this surface welding unit the focus was on flexibility. Surfacing is possible on the right and left grooved rail without repositioning. Alternatively, the welding unit can also be used with solid wire or flux cored wire.
The compact 6-wheel construction impresses with a high seam quality in tracks, curves and points with minimum flux input. Further, automatic welding leads to considerable savings on production, auxiliary and downtimes compared to manual regeneration welding.
