Submerged-Arc Welding Automat UPK
 The UPK is Kjellberg's cheapest alternative for single-wire fillet welding. It offers the advantages of automated welding at a low price. Due to its compact design, the UPK is especially suited for submerged-arc welding on plane sheets with a wire of max. 4 mm wire diameter. The speedometer-driven carriage with 3-wheel guide is optimised for ship building, steel and bridge construction.
With the help of the guide wheel, the UPK can be guided on the workpiece along the web plate. Due to its light weight and compact design, the UPK is a mobile and flexible welding automat. The pivoting range of 15 to 45 degrees for the manual positioning of the welding head and the adjustment range of 50 mm along the nozzle stock guarantee an optimal adjustment to nearly any workpiece.
In connection with the Kjellberg power sources, nominal values for welding current, arc voltage and welding speed can be pre-adjusted. Additionally, start and end crater filling phases can be determined separately. This together with the integrated automatic ignition and burn-free ensures that the entire welding process can be optimally controlled and automated.
