Gas-Shielded Metal Arc Welding
The gas-shielded metal arc welding (GMAW) means that a wire electrode melts under a shielding-gas protection. The gas provides protection against external influences. It is characteristic for GMA welding that there are diverse application possibilities for nearly all weldable materials. This process is used with hand-operated torches as well as with fully mechanised carrier systems like gantries or robots.
