Piercing into the Workpiece
|
Not all cutting tasks can be started at the edge of the material but require piercing into the workpiece. The material is molten and needs to be blown upwards until the hole is created on the bottom side. The flowing swirl gas protects the consumables against the spattering material in order to avoid damages to the torch. It is further recommended to lift the torch head after ignition and during the piercing process. After the piercing process has been finished the melt can be blown out of the kerf downwards as usual. The hight control unit then adjusts again the defined cutting height.
Due to their high energy density, plasma units made by Kjellberg Finsterwalde offer the highest piercing capacities in the market. The high performance allows quick, reproducible and sparing piercing processes.
