The DVS (German Welding Society) had invited companies to participate in their photo competition and submit photos on the topic „Joining, separating and coating“ until July 2010. Then a jury of experts judged the photos. Two photos submitted by Kjellberg Finsterwalde were chosen for the DVS photo calendar 2011. Quite surprisingly, the DVS even decided to offer a special prize for cutting technique which was awarded for the photo showing bevel cutting with the new plasma torch PerCut 450M. „The future of cutting technique holds enormous potential – so it is no surprise that the DVS is interested in promoting and consequently expanding all activities in research, technique and education relating to these new technologies“, explained the managing director of the DVS Dr. Klaus Middeldorf the decision for this additional award (Source: DVS press release).
The photo showing underwater plasma cutting was also chosen for the calendar so that Kjellberg Finsterwalde is represented even with two out of twelve winning photos.
On 26 September 2010, Volker Krink and Nicole Dönicke proudly accepted the award from Prof. Dr. Heinrich Flegel, president of the DVS.
