A Progressive Company with a Long Tradition
The Kjellberg Finsterwalde Plasma und Maschinen GmbH is the oldest manufacturer of plasma cutting machines in the market. The company with a long tradition was founded in 1922 as Kjellberg Elektro-Maschinen GmbH by Oscar Kjellberg, the inventor of the coated rod electrode after whom the company was named. In 1959, Kjellberg Finsterwalde started the development of plasma cutting technology. In 1962, a patent application for FineFocus plasma cutting was filed in cooperation with the scientist Manfred von Ardenne.
In 2008, the former Kjellberg Finsterwalde Elektroden und Maschinen GmbH was restructured. Four independant companies emerged which from that time on have focussed on their respective specializations.
