InFocus – a Special TIG Process

High-performance welding with InFocus InFocus welding is an established, high-performance alternative to the conventional TIG welding process. Offering a wide range of applications, with InFocus you can master diverse welding tasks more efficiently than with conventional processes. Each user has new or different demands for the use in fully and partly automated systems. Ranging from standard aluminium and special aluminium alloys to mild steel and stainless steel, i. e. 1.4301 or 1.4471, but also copper, titanium zinc and galvanized sheets or profiles are to be welded with InFocus.

Different industries, i.e. automotive suppliers, the steel construction or food industry, pay special attention to the most diverse parameters of the weld seam according to the respective standards. However, our customers are not left alone with the highly efficient InFocus technique. On behalf of the customer experienced application specialists from Kjellberg Finsterwalde determine the optimum solution for the InFocus welding of your specific components.

Our application centre for welding technique in Finsterwalde is fully equipped for carrying out feasibility studies. There are robots, a longitudinal welding machine and a linear axle available for determining the optimum welding parameters. With this equipment we can identify the welding parameters for the most diverse component geometries. Even weld seams in constrained positions on sheets with a thickness between one and six millimetres could be realized with InFocus. Due to the good reproducibility of this process usually these parameters can simply be implemented in the production process. And that’s not even all: existing systems can also be optimised. Replacing the conventional TIG welding by the InFocus process leads to a considerable productivity increase of the entire system.

The high quality of the weld seams and the high process reliability are achieved due to a highly focused arc and an excellent cooling system up to the torch tip. Torches with a small geometric interference and small design allow the use also for components which are difficult to access. Over the past few years, Kjellberg Finsterwalde together with its customers and partners has gained many experiences with InFocus welding resulting in numerous accessories, i.e. individual trailing shields.
